Calvary Volunteer’s Fundraiser Featured on WUSA9 News!

Will you support Stacy’s project and help empower women at Calvary to end their homelessness for good?

Last month we told you about Stacy Sawin, an overnight volunteer at Calvary Women’s Services who is hiking the Pacific Crest Trail to raise awareness and fundraise for Calvary.

Local news station WUSA9 sat down with Stacy and talked to her about why she has chosen to support Calvary and why she thinks Calvary is so special. Yani Hodges, a former resident at Calvary who moved into her own apartment earlier this month, was also on hand to talk about her experiences at Calvary.

I came from being homeless and I didn’t know which way to go. Calvary gave me a sense of feeling loved and being supported.”

Watch Stacy and Yani share their inspirational stories with WUSA9.

Stacy, who also works at Deloitte and has participated in Deloitte Impact Day activities at Calvary, is trying to raise $10,000 in donations to support Calvary’s programs. So far, she has already raised more than $2,000. During her hike, she will be covering an incredible 20 miles per day while carrying a 30 lb. backpack!

Let’s give Stacy the perfect send-off to the Pacific Crest Trail by helping her reach her goal of raising $10,000.
