Calvary Captain Countdown – 13 days

Susan Ivey’s favorite Calvary volunteering memory? Meeting a former resident who came back to pick up her mail and hearing how well she is doing now that she has completed Calvary’s program. It was through her time volunteering that Susan first heard about the Walkathon. Although she comes from a warmer climate (her hometown is Tampa), Susan is looking forward to spending time in the “crisp fall air and joining together with friends and strangers to support a fantastic cause.”

Speaking of the “friends” who will join her, Susan plans on recruiting her entire soccer team to come out and walk for Calvary!

Like many walkers, Susan has two motivations for joining our team– generally, to raise awareness for homelessness, and specifically, to support Calvary. “I am walking to help raise awareness about homelessness in our city, and to show solidarity and support our neighbors without homes. I am walking for Calvary because of the great work the dedicated staff and volunteers at Calvary do to improve the lives of those facing homelessness.”
