Geoff Tracy of Chef Geoff’s Restaurants will Serve as Honorary Chair of the “Good Hope Kitchen: 100 Days to $100k Program”

Calvary Women’s Services is pleased to announce that Geoff Tracy of Chef Geoff’s restaurants has joined the Good Hope Kitchen: 100 Days to $100K campaign as the Honorary Chair of the campaign. This grassroots fundraising campaign will build the kitchen in Calvary Women’s Services’ new facility in Southeast DC that will expand the critical services they offer homeless women.

“It is a truly a privilege to be the Honorary Chair for this 100 Days to 100K campaign in support of the Good Hope Kitchen,” said Tracy. “The kitchen will provide food, nutrition classes, and employment opportunities to those who need it most.  It is truly a kitchen of hope, love, and opportunity.”

Over the 100 days leading up to December 15, members of the community will raise much-needed funds to end homeless in Washington, DC. The Good Hope Kitchen: 100 Days to $100K will culminate with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at the close of the 100 days, with event hosts and sponsors in attendance.

When completed, the Good Hope Kitchen will help homeless women build healthy new lives by not only serving up healthy meals, but hands‐on nutrition and cooking classes as well as employment opportunities.

“Calvary helps homeless women take the first steps out of poverty by simply letting them know someone truly cares,” says Tracy. “Nutrition, home cooking, and self sufficiency are centerpieces of the program.”

Mr. Tracy joins other local restaurateurs in their support of the program. The recent “Iron Chef Calvary” event raised $10,000 for the Good Hope Kitchen with the support of Michael James of Proof, Adam Bernbach of Estadio, Herb Kaplan, the restaurateur and General Manager of Bistro Bis, and Nycci Nellis, co-anchor of Foodie & the Beast.

“It is my great fortune to be involved with the campaign for Calvary Women’s Services,” Bernbach said of the event. “Calvary Women’s Services is an organization that helps so many, both, on an immediate level and in rebuilding their lives. The women and their stories are nothing short of inspiring.”
