Calvary Women’s Services Announces New Board Officers
WASHINGTON, DC (October 1, 2024) — Calvary Women’s Services, a DC-based nonprofit dedicated to ending women’s homelessness, today announces a new class of Officers to its Board of Directors.
Newly elected Board Officers are President Caitlin Sickles (Bracewell LLP), Vice President Anitra Androh (Polsinelli), Secretary Tina Stow (AHIP), and Treasurer Aarti Ravi. Candace McLaren Lanham remains on the leadership team as the Immediate Past President.
“I’m thrilled to announce this new class of Officers and look forward to seeing each of these individuals continue to make an incredible impact in the lives of women experiencing homelessness,” said Kris Thompson, Chief Executive Officer. “With the leadership of these Officers and our entire Board of Directors, I’m confident that Calvary will continue to achieve its goals.”
Calvary has offered housing, health, education, and employment programs to women experiencing homelessness and domestic violence survivors in DC since 1983. Over 60% of women who complete its housing programs secure or maintain stable housing.
“I am incredibly honored to serve as President of the Board for Calvary Women’s Services. I look forward to working alongside Calvary’s talented and passionate Board of Directors, and the organization’s dedicated and capable staff,” shared Caitlin Sickles, President of the Board of Directors. “Calvary plays a vital role in our city, providing women experiencing homelessness with not only housing, but also the resources and services they need to rebuild their lives. In the coming year, we will continue to strengthen Calvary’s impact and ensure that the women who come to Calvary’s doors find safety, support, and the tools they need to achieve success.”
Sickles steps into her role as Board President after a two-year term as Vice President. She is a Senior Principal at Bracewell LLP, where she works in the firm’s Policy Resolution Group in strategic communications and co-hosts The Lobby Shop podcast.
“I am delighted to serve such a worthy organization in this capacity. Calvary Women’s Services provides a tremendous service to women experiencing homelessness in DC,” offered Anitra Androh, Vice President of the Board of Directors. Androh currently serves as a Shareholder at Polsinelli, where she represents clients in commercial real estate transactions.
Calvary boasts three transitional housing programs and three permanent supportive housing programs, which provided over 46,000 nights of safe housing for women in 2023 alone. The organization’s housing capacity has expanded by 250% since 2021.
“Calvary’s individualized, whole-person approach connects the women they serve with the unique services and supports they need to transform their lives. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting this vital work,” shared Tina Stow, Treasurer of the Board of Directors. Stow is the Executive Vice President of Public Affairs at AHIP, where she leads communications, digital, and public affairs efforts.
In addition to housing, Calvary offers on-site physical and mental health services to meet the unique needs of each woman in its programs. In 2023, nearly 750 therapy sessions were provided by a licensed therapist on Calvary’s staff.
