Cocktails for Calvary: Celebrating New Beginnings

Calvary Women’s Services hosted the annual Cocktails for Calvary event on a beautiful day at Dacha Beer Garden. Over 70 enthusiastic supporters gathered to celebrate women’s achievements in our housing, health, education, and employment programs! The picturesque weather set the perfect backdrop for this summer fundraiser, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose among attendees.

The evening was filled with engaging conversations as like-minded supporters enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks while connecting with those passionate about investing in the lives of women experiencing homelessness.

Together, we raised nearly $8,000 to provide safe housing and holistic services for women transforming their lives in Calvary’s programs. Since 2023, D.C. has seen a 14% increase in the rate of individuals experiencing homelessness. We’re grateful to the many volunteers, young professionals, and corporate partners for showing up and supporting our mission of ending homelessness for good in the District.

During the event, we also shared updates on the construction happening at Calvary’s Good Hope transitional housing site. Thanks to the swift support of our incredible donors and corporate partners, renovations are underway to make our flagship housing program a safe, welcoming space once more. We’re thrilled to be on track to welcome 45 women home this summer!

We extend our deepest gratitude to each person who contributed to another successful summer fundraiser. It’s amazing to see our community come together to empower women to regain their independence through Calvary’s programs.

There’s still time to make an impact! To take action today,  we invite you to donate as we prepare to reopen Good Hope later this summer. Together, we can continue providing safe housing and transformative services to every woman who walks through our doors!
