CALVARY WOMEN’S SERVICES 2025 HOPE GALA PROMISES A NIGHT OF CELEBRATION AND INSPIRATION
On Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, Calvary Women’s Services will host its annual Hope Gala, a premier fundraising event dedicated to advancing its mission to end homelessness for women in Washington, DC. The evening will feature a VIP and cocktail reception, a silent and live auction, and an inspiring program, highlighting the impact of Calvary’s services and honoring the supporters who make this mission possible.
The event will bring together influential community leaders, business executives, local policymakers, and dedicated donors who are committed to making a difference in the lives of women overcoming homelessness.
Emmy Award Winner Terri Tolliver will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event. The 2025 Hope Award will be presented to Tonia Wellons, President and CEO of the Greater Washington Community Foundation, in recognition of her leadership and dedication to fostering stronger communities. Previous Hope Award recipient Shawn Yancy, NBC4 Washington News Anchor, will also be in attendance to celebrate this year’s honorees.
CREW DC will be presented with the 2025 Partner of the Year award for their unwavering support of Calvary Women’s Services. Notable Special guests expected to attend include DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb, and DC Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie.

Funds raised through the 2025 Hope Gala will directly support Calvary’s transitional and permanent housing programs, health, education, and employment services for women experiencing homelessness and working to transform their lives.
According to the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ 2024 Point-in-Time Count Report, 5,616 individuals were experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC, on a single night in January 2024, a 14% increase from the previous year. As homelessness continues to rise locally, Calvary Women’s Services is committed to expanding its impact in 2025 to meet this critical need.
