5 Ways to Support Calvary in June

June brings excitement as we share opportunities for you to support our mission at Calvary Women’s Services! From becoming a Partner for Tomorrow to signing up as a Meal Volunteer to attending our Good Hope Grand Reopening Celebration, there are ways for everyone to get involved this month.

BECOME A PARTNER FOR TOMORROW

Want to make an impact in the lives of women year-round? Our Partners for Tomorrow program unites a dedicated group of donors who financially support the women at Calvary Women’s Services each month. Generous donors give anywhere from $10 to $500 every month to meet the tangible needs of our community. You can empower women every month by giving here!

RSVP TO THE GOOD HOPE GRAND REOPENING CELEBRATION

Good Hope transitional housing will be reopening its doors this summer after undergoing extensive renovations following the crisis on Marion Barry Avenue. We are preparing to welcome women back into a safe, stable home where they can transform their lives and end their homelessness for good.

Please join us to celebrate the collective success of our Restoring Hope campaign, tour the newly renovated Good Hope building, and mingle with like-minded philanthropists and business community members. You’ll also have an opportunity to meet members of the Calvary team to learn how our flagship housing site serves as a hub for our housing, health, education, and employment programs. This event is free, but we ask all guests to kindly RSVP by June 24th by clicking here.

GIVE A GIFT TO EMPOWER WOMEN AT CALVARY

This summer, give a gift that will empower women at Calvary to use their strengths and skills to end their homelessness for good! You can donate through Calvary’s Amazon Wish List to give women the means to meet their day-to-day needs as due to limited storage space, we are not currently accepting donated goods at this time.

HOST A FUNDRAISING EVENT DEDICATED TO CALVARY

You can make memories and make an impact this June by hosting a fundraising event in honor of Calvary. You can donate proceeds from your favorite fitness class, host a wine tasting, or put together a Brown Bag lunch at your place of work to raise awareness of our work to support women.

Hosting a fundraiser at your office, church, or club is another fantastic way of supporting women ending their homelessness for good at Calvary! Contact Allison Kraemer (akraemer@calvaryservices.org) for additional event support.

SIGN UP TO BE A MEAL VOLUNTEER

Calvary needs volunteers to provide warm, nutritious meals to women in our programs in June. These meals are an essential part of our mission to ensure that women can focus on transforming their lives while eating healthy. Our New Foundations and Reach Up programs are both in need of one-time meal drop-offs and reoccurring volunteers to provide meals each month.

This is a great activity for your family, friends, coworkers, or congregation! You can sign up to be a meal volunteer by clicking here.

We’re also lining up future volunteer slots in anticipation of Good Hope’s reopening this summer! If you are interested in returning as a Good Hope meal volunteer or joining the program for the first time, we invite you to reach out to Sarah Cannington, Community Engagement Manager (scannington@calvaryservices.org).
