Calvary Women’s Services Names Aura Cacia as 2024 Partner of the Year

Recognition comes after Aura Cacia Positive Change Project invests over $100,000 in Calvary’s programs for women experiencing homelessness in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Jan. 9, 2023) — Calvary Women’s Services, a nonprofit dedicated to serving women experiencing homelessness in Washington, D.C., today announced Aura Cacia, a pioneer in essential oils and aromatherapy, as its 2024 Partner of the Year. Since 2020, Aura Cacia has gifted over $100,000 in grants and in-kind donations to Calvary Women’s Services through its Positive Change Project.

The Positive Change Project was first introduced by Aura Cacia in 2016, with a mission of providing meaningful financial support to organizations committed to helping women and girls facing difficult life situations. Their investments have empowered more than 500 women participating in Calvary’s employment and education programs, Step Up DC and Life Skills Arts and Education (LEAP), to transform their lives.

“We launched the Positive Change Project to equip women and girls with the resources to live more purposeful lives and I’m proud to say we’ve achieved that through our ongoing partnership with Calvary Women’s Services,” said Somer Marshall, Director of Brand and Private Label Marketing at Aura Cacia. “As we look to the Positive Change Project’s eighth year, I’m honored to continue empowering women at Calvary to walk with confidence, self-respect, and purpose as they transform their lives.”

Each night over 1,300 women experience homelessness in Washington, D.C. according to the latest Point-In-Time Count. Calvary’s housing, health, education, and employment programs ensure that women are able to transform their lives and end their homelessness for good.

“The Positive Change Project exemplifies what it means to meaningfully invest in a community of women,” said Kris Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of Calvary Women’s Services. “I’m thrilled to recognize our partners at Aura Cacia for their thoughtful and unwavering dedication to our mission to end women’s homelessness for good.”

Aura Cacia will be presented with the 2024 Partner of the Year Award at Calvary’s Hope Gala in April.
